President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors

Stephen J. Scheifele, MS, MD joined the Board of Directors in 2000. A retired Obstetrician/ Gynecologist, Dr. Scheifele had been in private practice at California Pacific Medical Center, Peninsula Hospital and Seton Medical Center. He served on the Seton Medical Center Board of Directors from 1994-1996, was Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1995-2000 and Chief of Staff from 2002-2004. He also served on the Board of Directors of Catholic Healthcare West, Bay Area Region, from 1996-2001. Dr. Scheifele was appointed a Commissioner on the San Mateo Health Commission and the San Mateo Community Health Authority from 1997-2012.

 

Vice President

 

Katherine L. Gregory, MD, MPH joined the Board of Directors in 2011. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School in 1994, after which she earned a Masters in Public Health, Quantitative Methods from the Harvard School of Public Health. She serves on several Quality Improvement Committees at California Pacific Medical Center and has been active with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Gregory practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology in San Francisco from 1995-2007. Since 2007, she has focused on gynecology in her private practice, San Francisco Gynecology, Inc.

Secretary in Charge of Marketing


Michael E. Abel, MD joined the Board of Directors in 1998. In addition, he served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Brown & Toland Medical Group from 1993-2000. Dr. Abel has been in private practice in San Francisco since 1985 and served on multiple committees with the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and California Pacific Medical Center. He has also been active in the San Francisco Medical Society and was a member of the Board of Directors from 1992-1994.

Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer


David R. Minor, MD joined the Board of Directors in 2009. Since finishing his Oncology fellowship at Yale, he has been in private practice at California Pacific Medical Center for more than 30 years. Dr. Minor has been trustee of his corporate pension plan for 25 years and served as Director of Inpatient Oncology at CPMC since 1997. He has also served as president of the Kentfield Schools foundation, the San Francisco unit of the American Cancer Society, and the California Kidney Cancer Foundation. Currently very active in melanoma research, Dr. Minor is associate director of the California Pacific Center for Melanoma Research and Treatment.

Assistant Treasurer

 

Michele L. Li, MD joined the Board of Directors in 2016 and has served on PRF's Patient Care and Management Committee since 2007. She is a general and endocrine surgeon and serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at UCSF as well as Vice Chair of the Department of Surgery at CPMC. She received her MD from the University of California, San Diego and completed her general surgery residency at UCSF. Dr. Li is in private practice at San Francisco Surgical Associates. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the UCSF Naffziger Surgical Society.

Medical Consultant


Fung Lam, MD joined the Board of Directors in 2012. He also serves as Chair of PRF's Patient Care and Management Committee. Dr. Lam completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCSF Medical Center in 1985. He has been in private practice since that time and is a senior partner at Golden Gate Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Lam has been active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the San Francisco Gynecological Society and the Pacific Coast Obstetrical & Gynecological Society.

Vermont Director


Jeff Kenneson, CPA, CPCU, ARM is the President of Davies Captive Management, the company that serves as the insurance manager for PRF. He is responsible for ensuring PRF's corporate and regulatory requirements are maintained. Jeff has a proven track record in  development and production in the captive insurance business industry.

Executive Director


Andrea McArtor began working with PRF in May 2015. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. She has experience working in direct patient care and in operational and medical practice administration. Andrea is an active member of Northern California and National Medical Group Managers Association (MGMA) and volunteers in local community organizations

 

Associate General Counsel and Claims Administrator


Shannon Gates began working with PRF in May 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Miami University in 2000. She then earned her Juris Doctorate from Emory University in 2004. Shannon worked as an Assistant State Attorney and a Family Law Attorney in Florida and joined the California bar in 2015.
